OUR RANCH

Moody's Live Oak Creek Ranch is a 1000 acre family-owned and operated working ranch in Valley Mills, Texas. Owners John and Deborah Moody raise registered American Quarter Horses as well as cattle, white-tailed deer, and exotics. They have been recognized by the AQHA for being 10+ Year Breeders.

The Moodys began raising American Quarter Horses in the late 1970s out of granddaughters of Tonto Bars Hank, Poco Bueno, and Commander King. Today, their commitment to producing AQHA foals with Foundation bloodlines continues with stud HollywoodPlaysMyCDs, a son of the three-time NRHA World Champion Reining Horse Hollywood White, bred to mares from the Colonel Freckles, Pepe San Badger, Doc Olena, Highbrow Hickory, and Leo lines. Many of the mares are registered with the National Foundation Quarter Horse Association.

OUR HORSES

Our ranch values natural breeding and social development of our horses. All mares are bred, foal, and raise their babies within the herd environment.

Moody's Quarter Horses are currently in use on ranches across the United States. Their inherent cow savvy and athleticism combined with a gentle, willing disposition and impeccable conformation make them ideal Futurity prospects as well as working ranch horses.
